Hi, I'm JUSTINE.
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, YOUR FRIEND.

BEHIND THE CAMERA(s)

I not only still enjoy the art but I've found a new joy in learning the stories of my clients and bringing out parts of their story in their photos. I've done it all and have matured to realize documenting the true events happening in front of me mean WORLDS more than capturing fixed poses one after another.
Even after almost 20 years of taking photos, I'm always evolving in my art and doing what feels authentic to me. So thanks for stopping by. I appreciate that you're here and care to get to know me as much as I care to get to know you.

Here's my story...

"It's more important to click with people than to click the shutter."

GET TO KNOW ME

Q1.  Do you have hobbies outside of photos?

Yesssss. I've been in my sourdough era for a while. Next up is chickens + eventually a homestead! I also REALLY enjoy driving through rich neighborhoods + looking at houses ☺

Q2.  What song wants you hoppin' on the dance floor at weddings?

Anything from Waka Flacka Flame but especially the classic, 'No Hands'. Honorable mentions? In Da Club, Yeah! and Mo Bamba.

Q3. What's something people would be surprised to know about you?

Probably that I'd rather watch Youtube than TV. Like an uninterrupted meal watching Cody Ko, CUT, The Try Guys, Dr.Mike, Good Mythical Morning, etc? YES PLEASE.

Q4.  What's your go-to date night with your husband?

Easy. Going out to dinner somewhere with a vibe in Tampa, coming home, changing into our PJs and playing games with munchies on the table.

I just fell in love!" And the enn-agram 4 in me is SCREAMING because I'm saying it too. But it's vital to my story and my career. So here go's.
You know when people graduate from high school and they don't have a clue what direction they want to go in? What career they want to choose? That wasn't me. I've known for certain since I was 10 years old.  That's when I got my first camera. I was taking photos so often that my friends actually told me it was annoying having a camera in their face all the time (whoops).
At 14, I got my first 'professional' camera after promising my father I'd take photo classes in high school. I went on to reach AP Photo my Junior year, get a perfect score on the final, win 2nd overall in a national photo contest (which won me a free trip to NYC to see my photo at Carnegie Hall and on the Times Square Billboard), and officially starting my career after graduating from UCF with a Bachelor's in Communication.

Jan 2020

My 10th birthday. The greatest gift - this small kid's pocket cam that literally changed my life. I had that camera on me everywhere I went. It even distracted me from pain from a recent leg surgery that I walked again pain-free.
From here, I got a *touch screen* *ooooohhh* digital camera. Then I was starting high school and knew I needed something better.

I got my first digital camera and started practicing with families I babysat for, had my sister model for me and even shot some small weddings. I joined Photography classes in high school and seemed to be the only one who actually cared about the assignment lol.

I think I peaked in this moment hahahaha. Out of 250,000 submissions, I won 2nd place and won a free trip to NYC. My photo was in Carnegie Hall + the Times Square Billboard. This was such a special time.

So proud of little 16-year-old me  ☺

I took the leap! After graduating with my Bachelor's from UCF, I still just wanted to be a photographer. So I went full time! The 'vid happened soon after which was scary but my little business made it through and I've captured hundreds of stories since.

As for today, my art is continuing to grow in ways my old self never thought would happen! I get to stay home most of the time with my daughter while serving my clients and it's a true dream come true.

OUR DAUGHTER

The person I spend the most time with - my favorite girl, P. She's our first baby and has made my dreams come true. I've always wanted to be a mom. She's spunky, determined, smart, active, beautiful. We spend most of our days together and I'm beyond grateful my job allows me to do that!

MY HUSBAND

Ryan and I have been together for almost a decade. We met working at Publix in 2013 and got married a few years ago. My favorite guy since the beginning♡ I truly wouldn't want to lead a family with anyone else. We also make super cute babies together. Speaking of....
