Remember that Gainesville Elopement I shot right before the pandemic started? Yeah, that was Emily and Andrew! They originally planned on having a small ceremony the day after. Then, Florida political leaders announced starting April 3rd, there were to be no more gatherings of over 10 people. Florida was truly shutting down. Andrew’s family drove down from Alabama and we had the ceremony on April 2nd in Emily’s front yard! Her new mother-in-law was the florist, the guys built the wooden cross and they tied the know with silicon wedding bands. Oh yeah and Andrew proposed THAT MORNING! Ugh their love story is so cool!!
Now after two years, we all came together again so they could have their big wedding day on their 2nd anniversary. Andrew’s dad was on the team that built and grew Christ Community Church in Gainesville when Andrew was only 2 years old. To have them get married again, by Andrew’s father, in the sanctuary after their original venue flooded days before…. it all was so romantic and ended up working out despite the craziness of the weather!
Most other brides would have been freaking out, been super upset and have those feelings carry through their entire wedding day. But Emily? Nope. She is so patient, kind and overall was just happy to get to do this thing all over again with all their friends and family present!
